WickedGov runs on MediaWiki, which is licensed under the GNU General Public License, either version 2 or, at your option, any later version.
Licensing policy

All prose must be available under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license or a compatible license. By submitting original text, contributors agree to release the text under CC BY-SA 4.0.
The only exception to the licensing requirement is that brief textual quotations from non-free sources are acceptable.
Images and media
Unlike with text, images and media are not always required to be compatible with the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. All images and media must be in the public domain or available under a license that meets the Definition of Free Cultural Works. "Fair use" media is never permitted and should be deleted.
Images that are only available under a free license incompatible with CC BY-SA 4.0 must meet specific criteria. This is to encourage all contributors to release media under a compatible license.
Incompatibly licensed media is only permitted if:
- The media is a logo,
- The media is a screenshot or excerpt of software or associated documentation, or
- The media was licensed prior to January 1, 2024.
Examples of incompatible free licenses are the GNU Free Documentation License and General Public License.
