WickedGov:About
WickedGov is a wiki dedicated to fostering civic engagement by improving free access to information about politics and government in Massachusetts. To better understand what WickedGov is about, let's break that down, phrase by phrase.
WickedGov is a wiki...[edit source]
A wiki is a website that is collaboratively edited by a broad community. Anyone can help improve WickedGov—including you! Create an account to get started.
Since WickedGov is community-edited, there is no single "owner" of all content that can be contacted in case of a content problem. If you have an issue with WickedGov's content, please feel free to change it yourself! If you're not sure how, or if you're unsuccessful, leave a message on the town common.
You have probably heard of Wikipedia. Although WickedGov does share a lot of principles with Wikipedia, we are not affiliated with the hosts of Wikipedia.
...dedicated to fostering civic engagement...[edit source]
The goal of WickedGov is to inform, not persuade. We do our best to write from a neutral point of view. WickedGov is not a soapbox or a place to advertise viewpoints.
...by improving free access to information...[edit source]
We mean "free" not only as in "free beer," but also as in "freedom." WickedGov content is freely licensed. In short, this means that anyone is permitted to reuse or adapt our content for any purpose, even commercially, with a few conditions. For all the details, please see the copyright policy.
