- If you are requesting removal of another user's permissions, you must notify them on their talk page. Pinging is not enough.
If you are requesting a user rename:
- Read the username policy to ensure that your requested username is appropriate.
- Check the list of registered users to ensure that your requested username has not already been taken.
- If the username has already been taken, you may still be eligible for usurpation.
